REDM CHARACTER CREATOR

Character selection, character creation, tailor and barber for RedM servers running VORP, in English and French. It takes the place of vorp_character and reads and writes the same data, so existing characters load as they are and the scripts that read the appearance keep working. Limits, prices, towns, origins, shop points and the camera are set in open config files.

Requires vorp_core, ox_lib and oxmysql. vorp_inventory only if the shops take an item as payment. Two small SQL tables are created on the first start.

WHAT THE PLAYER SEES

• Selection: one card per character (name, nickname, job, origin, age, money), the character shown in 3D in the Red Dead Online creator set, play, create, delete with a confirmation.
• Creator: sex, origin, skin tone and head, upper and lower body, build, waist, height in cm, 54 face sliders, 9 body sliders, eye color, teeth, scars, freckles, moles, ageing and other marks, identity with a birth date, then a starting outfit and a haircut taken in the shop screens at no cost.
• Tailor: every multiplayer clothing piece of both sexes, by category, with its color variants, a palette and three tints per piece. The total only counts pieces the character did not wear when he came in and dyes on pieces he already had. Taking a piece off is free.
• Wardrobe at the tailor: save the outfit you wear, wear or delete saved outfits. It uses the VORP outfits table.
• Barber: hairstyles and beards with their colors, eyebrows, stubble, shaved hair, eye shadow, eyeliner, blush and lipstick, with color and opacity.
• Camera with height, side, zoom and rotation sliders, and a light on the face.

WHAT YOU CAN SET

Characters. Number of characters per account, raised or lowered by VORP group, or the VORP per account limit. Deletion on or off. Direct entry for an account with a single character.

Identity. Year of the game world, age range, name lengths, banned words in names.

Origins and arrival. Plain lists in the config: add a line to add a town or an origin. An origin can impose its own arrival point, otherwise the player picks a town. Texts can be a locale key, plain text or one text per language.

Shops. Tailor and barber points, fitting position, blips, prompt keys, currency (dollars, gold or an item), price per clothing category, dye price, price per barber category, wardrobe size. Tailor, barber and wardrobe can each be turned off.

Scene and camera. Position of the selection and creator scene, the map pieces it loads, the lamp, and the camera framing and limits.

Staff. A staff command reopens the creator for a character (appearance only), at once if he plays, else at his next login. Staff is set by ACE permission and VORP groups. Creations, deletions, staff edits and purchases go to a Discord webhook.

Other scripts. Answers the vorp_character exports (outfit menu, worn components) and events. Server exports for the origin and the birth date of a character.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU INSTALL

It cannot run next to vorp_character: if vorp_character is started, cm-character stays inactive and says so in the console. A script that checks GetResourceState('vorp_character') sees it as missing and needs that check changed.

Shop points are vanilla map positions. Check them on your map, a server with custom interiors may need other fitting points.

Tested on VORP only. The Cfx asset escrow only encrypts Lua: the config, the locales, the data files and the interface are shipped readable.

INSTALLATION

• Back up your database.
• Copy the folder into your resources.
• Remove ensure vorp_character and add ensure cm-character after vorp_core, ox_lib and oxmysql.
• Restart the whole server.
